Small Ensembles 
| During the Winter and Spring many students participate in small ensembles, chamber groups and solo events. North Lincoln is active in the South Central District Band Association (SCDBA) of the North Carolina Bandmasters Association (NCBA). Both of these organizations are members of the North Carolina Music Educator's Association (NCMEA) and Music Educators National Conference (MENC). In May each year, North Lincoln serves as the host for the SCDBA Solo and Ensemble Festival. In addition to hosting the district festival, North Lincoln has numerous students participate in the festival with small ensembles and solos for ratings. Extra-curricular ensembles who organize with help from Band Staff or on their own have a good record of "Superiors" and "Excellents" at Solo and Ensemble Festival. Some of our annual ensembles include: Brass Choir, Flute Choir and Percussion Ensemble. Members of our Wind Ensemble are required to participate in one event for Solo and Ensemble Festival. Therefore, the Wind Ensemble Brass, and Woodwind Ensemble are formed. These two groups rehearse as part of the class experience. In addition to Solo and Ensemble Festival, many of our students audition for and participate in district, state and regional level honors band clinics. Our students annually participate in the following honors band clinics: SCDBA All-District Band NCBA All-State Honors Band Univeristy of North Carolina at Greensboro Carolina Band Festival Winthrop University Invitational Honors Band Western Carolina University Invitational Honors Band Charlotte Youth Wind Ensemble (sponsored by UNC-Charlotte)  |
