| Western Carolina University Honors Band Congratulations to the following band members who participated in the Western Carolina University Honors Band:
CIPA Novice A Class Championships NLHS Winterguard placed 9th out of 19 guards in the CIPA Novice A Class Championships. This is quite an accomplishment for our 6 member guard, in their first year! Congratulations to the guard members, and their instructors; Lisa, Virginia, and Dana. Thanks to the parents that supported, drove buses, made props and flags, and help take it all to contests!  NC SOUTH CENTRAL DISTRICT CONCERT FESTIVAL 2004 at Shelby (April 1st) Congratulations! The North Lincoln High School "Band of Knights Symphonic Band" received straight "Superiors" in the South Central District Concert Band Festival in Grade V/VI. The festival held at Shelby High School is one of six sponsored in our state by the North Carolina Bandmasters Association. As of 4/1/04, only three other bands in the district had been rated with "straight superiors." This is quite an accomplishment for our "Band of Knights" in their first year. All-District Band Band students representing North Lincoln High School at All District Band were: Julian Kaplan, Brittany Fainn, Jeff Jordan, and Tyler Smith. Congratulations to these fine musicians. UNCG Honors Band Congratulations to Brittany Fainn, Julian Kaplan, Andrew Reep, Tyler Smith, Justin King, Steven Ameigh, Ashan Davis and Jeff Jordan who all made the UNCG Honors Band. Michael Harvey also achieved first alto sax. All-County Band Scholarship Awarded Congratulations goes out once again to Julian Kaplan who was one of four students awarded a $100 scholarship for displaying outstanding musicianship qualities. Each scholarship was awarded by the guest conductor for Honors Band. Mr. Ken Davis, Director of Bands at Mooresville High School, was our guest conductor who presented Julian his award. Julian may use his scholarship money for any musical endeavor (e.g., lessons, towards the purchase of music or instrument, music camp). "Mr. Knight" Awarded Congratulations to Brian Summers who was crowned "Mr. Knight" at this whacky fundraiser event. All-State Band Tryouts (March 6th) Julian Kaplan, Jeff Jordan and Brittany Fainn represented our school and district at the All-State Honors Band Tryouts on March 6th. Results are as follows: Julian Kaplan earned 4th chair trumpet; Jeff Jordan earned 3rd chair tuba; and Brittany Fainn earned 10th chair. Congratulations to Julian, Jeff and Brittany! Pumpkin Center Middle School (PCMS) - 2 Students Selected for All-District Band Congratulations to Molly Underwood and Hillary Lidman who were the only two Lincoln County students selected for the All-District Band from PCMS.
